Snow Portraits

Hydi and I took a walk in the snow on a sunny day so I decided to shoot some shallow DOF portraits with the Pentax 67ii and the 105/2.4. Overall I was satisfied with the results, but although I don’t know the cause, many of the shots appeared overexposed. When I tried to bring them back in PP I ended up with a rather limited dynamic range, resulting in significant areas of blown highlights and lost shadows. It could be that the camera has a metering problem, or it could be user error as I was up at the upper limits of shutter speed on several shots due to the large apertures, it could be a developing problem, or it could be the scanning software… I’m just not sure at this point. Anyway, I’m happy with the results as long as no one is looking too closely!
